Numinous North

Tombstone Territorial Park (2 days)

“Numinous” is defined as “of or pertaining to the spiritual and supernatural”. How often have we looked at a landscape and felt a degree of transformation or elevation? How is the process of walking through the landscape a numinous journey, and how may photography be our personal reflection of this experience? Through this workshop, we will explore how an image may be our vehicle for sharing the numinous qualities we discover in the wild.

Please refer to the Mountain Light hiking trip description, as this photography weekend is intended as an add-on to the Mountain Light trip itinerary. We will be camping at Tombstone campground as well for this weekend. Numinous North is specifically timed for Yukoners who wish to travel to the Tombstones for a long weekend of autumn-colour photography and hiking, or for Mountain Light participants who wish to come ahead for a weekend of focused photography and instruction.

Plan to arrive at Tombstone campground on Friday night so we can start the workshop over breakfast on Saturday morning. The workshop will end after breakfast on Monday, so participants who are not staying for the Mountain light hiking trip are free to either head off hiking for the day or to use the day to travel home.
